Everyday PeopleIn this one-minute advertising spot, everyday Missourians discuss health care, education and Bob. We view this campaign as an opportunity to empower everyday people and offer them a chance to be heard. That is at the heart of this advertisement and our "Bob & ME" campaign. We feel as though an effective Representative listens to his constituents and shares their experiences on their behalf at the capitol. Thus, we opt to let Columbians share their thoughts in our first radio advertisement. The comments they make in the one-minute spot are candid, honest, and unscripted. We believe this distinguishes us from our fellow democrats running in this race. We value giving Missourians a chance to be heard -- something too often missing in Jefferson City. This is reflected in our choice to present everyday Columbians, as opposed to only the candidate. In the advertisement, local residents highlight the importance of providing universal access to quality education, preschool programs, and health care. All of these issues affect the economy, quality of life, and need action in Jefferson City. The advertisement also mentions how Bob offers more than what people want to hear, unlike many other politicians. He is sympathetic, attentive, and has a drive to personally research and learn about issues facing the state. These characteristics form the foundation of quality, representative government. |
